When Project 82 Kenya set foot in Molo almost a decade ago, they met young orphaned children who had tasted the bad taste of poverty. The Lord spoke to the founders that He wanted them to be part of His wonderful plan of restoring dignity back, so that His children living in Molo may be able to taste the sweet taste of success in their lives in future. The Lord had heard their cries and wanted to transform their lives.
Project 82 Kenya come to the rescue of many children among them, Joseph Chuchu, Joseph Mwangi, Samuel Mburu, Geoffery Onuonga, John Ndung’u, Harrison Ng’ang’a and Catherine Muthoni and many others who were living in abject poverty under the care of their aged grandparents and needy relatives who were having a daunting task to provide basic needs like; food, education, medical, clothing and even shelter for them. This broke our hearts during our home visits to conduct needs assessments. These young men smiles painted a picture of hope, so we had to step in to protect the wonderful dreams of these orphans and needy children, who amidst the poverty surrounding them; they still could afford to confidently spell out their dreams to us! This was hope!
It was against all odds for them to still hold on to hope of a brighter and beautiful future despite the dark and ugly despair that clouded their homes and their surrounding environment.
We thank God for those people who have always heeded to God’s call and joined us in defending their dreams! We are forever grateful! Your continued support throughout these years has ensured that their dreams remain a reality.
It is with great elation to inform you that they have now not only joined High School, but the best high schools in Kenya! We managed to catch up with Joseph Mwangi’s neighbor when we were picking him up from his home to take him to school. She was so much elated and she told us that she never ever pictured the young man ever being educated. She told us that despite that cold chilly morning, the action of Project 82 Kenya and all those supporting hundreds of orphans in Molo has greatly warmed her heart with immense joy. Such testimonies encourage us to even want to do more in Kenya.
Join us today in igniting the candle of hope through education, in in the lives of those darkened by poverty. Let’s encourage the orphans and vulnerable children that; where you come from should not be your limitation.
