Does my monthly donation go directly to the children and their families?

Through Project 82 Kenya sponsorship, your monthly sponsorship donations are pooled for maximum effectiveness. This means that instead of giving direct cash benefits to one child, you join forces with other sponsors to fund long-term community development programs that benefit the whole community. Some organizations focus on providing handouts or only helping individual sponsored children, but we’ve learned this can divide communities and slow progress. In other parts of the world, societies are much more communal and less individualistic than western cultures, so a community-based model is more effective.

How does a child and family benefit from my monthly donation?

Your monthly donation is combined with the donations of other sponsors so we can provide long-term resources for lasting change in each family we care for. Your sponsorship provides for medical care, school costs, food, and the equipping of guardians. If you support the Rescue Infant Home, your donation helps provide for the housing, medical care, diapers, and formula for each baby that is rescued.

At Project 82 Kenya, we strive for the highest level of financial integrity. We understand that the main priority of our donors is to transform the lives of the children we have been given the privilege to serve. To maximize our impact, we continually strive to keep our overhead rate low to use funding for programs that directly benefit our children, local families, and communities in need. We complete annual independent unqualified audits in both Kenya and the U.S.
